AVENGERS: ENDGAME SPOILER REVIEW
I'm coming at this as someone who read the comics and who also invested in this franchise since 2008 as a 15 year old kid, when I was the only one in my entire high school or inner circle who could comprehend what was about to unfold and told everyone about who The Avengers were and what they're all about.
To be frank, time traveling is a lazy way to rewrite or undo everything that came before. But, there are films that do it well and I was going in with that optimism that they might try something clever. Ultimately it is the same time traveling mumbo-jumbo. It does try to cover the tried trope with moments of nostalgia, and to it's credit i
SHAZAM REVIEW
Shazam is awesome.
It's breezy, cheeky, and fun. It isn't without its problems but the good far outweigh the bad.
Zachary Levi is perfectly cast in the role. I'm happy he got his first big lead and he's very good at emulating the child-like behavior Shazam is known for. The script and his acting chops capture the spirit of the original comics. A combination of syrupy heroism and nutty plotting. It maintains some of that old-fashioned feel, but with modern context. It works very well. Asher Angel's performance as Billy Batson the boy who inherits the powers of Shazam through the desperation of the wizard himself (Djimon Hounsou) go hand in h
CAPTAIN MARVEL REVIEW
Just right off the bat, I can tell that with more appearances in the future, Captain Marvel will truly come into her own. I would argue a lot of MCU heroes struggled to have a perfect "batting average" in their first outing. Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, some of the Guardians all more or less had an okay to average beginning. Not every character can hit immediately like Downey Jr.'s Iron Man or Evans' Captain America, but with more appearances they became more and more better. I think the same applies to Carol Danvers. This movie suffers from what I like to call "first movie syndrome."
The characters are great, but there
New Youtube Channel! TIDESIDE!
Hi everyone, this is not my youtube channel, but it's my brother's. It is called TIDESIDE, and I guest on it frequently, although it's small and we only have three videos up, please check it out if you can!
It's no secret that I love Marvel and the MCU. Here in this video we discuss Phase 1, a retrospective look at it, along with another guest, Daniel Valdez. Can you believe it's almost been ten years? Do give a watch, like, subscribe, comment, and share! Appreciate it!
